Author Guidelines

Thank you for choosing to submit your work to The Intertwined Journal. To ensure a smooth submission and review process, please follow these author guidelines carefully.

1. General Submission Requirements

  • Originality: All submissions must be original works that have not been published or are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Language: Articles must be submitted in English. Please ensure your manuscript is well-written, clear, and free from typographical errors. Authors are encouraged to seek in-house copyediting or linguistic support if necessary.
  • Article Type: We accept research articles, review articles, case studies, and short communications related to topics within our scope. Please refer to our journal’s scope on the website to ensure your submission aligns with our focus areas.

2. Manuscript Formatting

Please adhere to the following formatting guidelines to help streamline the review process:

  • Document Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Font: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font.
  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing all text, including references.
  • Margins: Use 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.
  • Title Page: The title page should include the article title, the names of all authors, their affiliations, and corresponding author contact details (email and postal address).
  • Abstract: Provide a concise abstract of 150-250 words summarizing the key points of your article.
  • Keywords: Include 4-6 keywords that describe the main topics of your article.

3. Sections of the Manuscript

Organize your manuscript in the following order:

  • Title Page (with author details)
  • Abstract and Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods (for research articles)
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusions
  • Acknowledgements & Funding Information (if applicable)
  • References

4. Citations and References

  • Citation Style: All citations should follow APA 7th Edition format for both in-text citations and the reference list. Please ensure that in-text citations are formatted correctly and match the reference list entries.
    • In-text Citations: Use the author-date format for citations (e.g., Smith, 2020). If citing a direct quote, include the page number (e.g., Smith, 2020, p. 15).
    • Avoid Footnotes: Please do not use footnotes in your manuscript. Any additional notes should be incorporated directly into the text.
    • Reference List: Include a complete and accurate reference list at the end of your manuscript, formatted according to APA 7th edition guidelines. Ensure that all in-text citations appear in the reference list and vice versa.

5. Figures and Tables

  • Placement: Place figures and tables within the manuscript where they are first referenced.
  • Numbering: Number figures and tables consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, etc.).
  • Captions: Provide descriptive captions for all figures and tables.
  • Quality: Ensure that figures are high resolution (at least 300 dpi) and suitable for publication.

6. Ethical Considerations

  • Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is free from plagiarism. All sources and references must be properly cited. All the articles undergo Plagiarism check and only articles with less than 15% similarity will be accepted.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors should declare any potential conflicts of interest in the manuscript, including financial interests or relationships that could affect the research.
  • Human and Animal Rights: If applicable, confirm that your research follows ethical guidelines for the use of human or animal subjects. Obtain appropriate approval from ethics committees or institutional review boards.

7. Submission and Peer Review

  • Online Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted through our online submission system. Please create an account and upload your manuscript, following the system’s instructions.
  • Peer Review: All submitted manuscripts undergo a blind peer review process. Authors will be notified of the review outcome (accepted, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejected).
  • Revisions: If revisions are requested, please address all reviewer comments carefully and submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to the reviewers’ feedback.

8. Publication Fee

Upon acceptance of your manuscript, a publication fee will apply:

  • 1500 INR for articles without DOI.
  • 2000 INR for articles with DOI. This fee helps cover the costs of editorial, peer review, and open-access publishing processes.

9. Open Access and Copyright

The Intertwined Journal follows an open-access publishing model. All articles are freely accessible online. Authors retain copyright over their work, but the journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) license, which allows others to freely read, share, and cite your work, provided that proper attribution is given and the work is not used for commercial purposes or altered.

10. Additional Notes

  • Copyright Form: A copyright form is required at the copyediting stage. This should include a statement confirming that the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Supplementary Materials: If your article includes supplementary materials (e.g., datasets, videos), please upload these separately during the submission process.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared with trusted partners, like peer review systems or payment processors, to help us manage the editorial process.

6. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. To do so, please contact us directly.
